Restaurants and bars

Fresh seafood, capers, citrus fruit, olives, Malvasia, and more...the joy of eating is around every corner on the island. Lipari Town offers a lively concentration of bars and restaurants showcasing typical Aeolian food, as well as pizzerias, pasticcerias, and places to pick up a sandwich. Closer to Villa Paradiso, the village of Pianoconte offers the same fare in a relaxed environment. Ask us for recommendations!

beaches

One of the island's best beaches, Spiaggia Valle i Muria (pictured above) is about 1 km from Villa Paradiso. Surrounded by cliffs, it offers seclusion and lovely scenery. There is also a kiosk where you can rent chairs and purchase drinks. Also not to be missed are Spiaggia Bianca (white beach), and Cannetto, which adjoins a row of shops and bars.

cultural and historical sites

Lipari was settled in the 4th millenium BC, so history lovers are sure to be enthralled by the island's Museo Archeologico, which houses artifacts from the Neolithic and Bronze Ages, to the Greco-Roman era. Old shipwreck cargoes and other cultural relics tell the story of the islands earliest inhabitants. The Parco Archeologico, the Spanish Citadel, and the Cattedrale di San Bartolomeo are also richly imbued with the history of the island.

trails and vistas

Villa Paradiso is located in the village of Pianoconte, which is a great starting point for scenic walks and/or hikes leading to breathtaking views from the western shoreline of Lipari, where you can view the islands of Salina, Alicudi, and Filicudi. En route, you can see the old roman baths of San Calogero. On the way from Lipari Town to Villa Paradiso, be sure to stop at Quattrocchi, which is perhaps the best viewpoint in Lipari.
